Week recap

Happy Monday!

We had a very busy week! Tuesday we went shopping. Nolan was feeling super patriotic and INSISTED on wearing this throughout Target.

 Thursday night my mom made me my favorite beefy biscuit cups. As I devoured into them I tasted a quite horrible taste.  I almost started gagging, but for once was trying to be polite.  I convinced myself I just had a bad bite but my second bite was possibly more horrendous then my first. (Nolan sees my expressions by this point and is looking at me big eyed).  I nicely ask my mom if she made them differently this time.  No she had just used the meat in our fridge.  She said I had told her the night before the meat was still good to use.... but the night before I also had drank a glass of sangria.   I texted Hans (who was in colorado for work) and asked him how old the meat in the fridge was.  His response was "Really old. Toss it."  I then started gagging.  My mom claims it was fine because it was still pink inside.  Who cares about the fact that the outside was green!  Anyways we survived..barely.

 Hans FINALLY got home and  we went to Harper's 1st Birthday party!  I realized my priorities in life definitely shifted as I was beyond excited.  Carrie even made ricecrispicles!

 I think Nolan really impressed Harper with the way he bounced the balloon around and made ape noises.

Sunday Nolan went swimming with his best bud Parker.  Parker had a sweet baby floaty  and fell asleep within 2 minutes.  You can't really see Nolan as his hat is over his face but he was having fun!

Sunday night Baby Jada came over...

 This is what you get at the end of a busy week..One tired angry baby!

 

Grocery shopping!

Hans is in Colorado this whole week for work.  Of course Nolan tried sneaking in his suitcase again..his giggling always gives him away though.

 

While Hans is gone Grandma J came up to help watch Nolan while I'm at work.  This morning we went grocery shopping because we didn't have any edible food in our house and Nolan was finally big enough to fit in the cart!What makes me happiest about this picture is the fact that he is happy being in the Vegetable section!  It won't be long I'm sure before he is only happy in the candy and toy section..

My mom INSISTS cooking for me while I'm at work..Since I don't want to make her feel bad I allow it! It's probably strange that my request for tonight is her homeade soup in this 100 degree weather!

Happy FRIDDDDDAYYY!

Now that Nolan has become a crawling machine and wants to eat computer cords and crawl and bang his head into the fireplace it's been nonstop around here.  Last night I needed a break to enjoy my fudge & Caramel  ice cream sundae with spanish peanuts and saw our empty diaper box. LIGHT BULB.  Now before you call protective services.. he was only in the box while I ate my DQ sundae..which I devoured in about 2 minutes because it was amazeballs.  Plus you will see from the video that he obviously enjoys being in a box.  I mean who wouldn't?

Nolan's first baseball game!

Happy Thursday!

Nolan attended his first baseball game last night (The quad cities semi pro team the River Bandits- If you were interested which I'm sure you weren't).  It was my work event so we got free food & tickets!  Speaking of "work" I have to sway away from the topic a little bit and share what I saw posted on someone's fb the other day..

Now back to the baseball game... Nolan  had SO much fun people watching and moving around.  I wanted a picture with him at his first baseball game but as you see here he was not cooperating at all.  He kept trying to eat my face.

This eating my face business literally went on for 5 minutes until I finally gave up and handed him to Hans for a picture.

OF COURSE..picture perfect with his dad.

We even stayed 3 innings! Woowoo! Nolan the PARTY ANIMAL!

Spring Bank!

Happy Wednesday!

Nolan had his first experience at our family cottage Spring Bank and got to meet his Jefferson cousins, Drew & Kale!  He will be able to have  loads of fun catching tadpoles and other gross amphibians with them in a couple years! However, I'm going to put the fear of snakes in him so he doesn't catch those and whip them at me (memories that still haunt me from my childhood days there).

He also decided he liked the lake water & eating sand..

We will be going back in July for more fun!

Nat & Nola

Happy Tuesday! 

First I must show a picture of Jada June!  She FINALLY came last week!  She is the sweetest little peanut!  Nolan looked at her adoringly and kind of reached for her..for sure it was love at first sight.

This weekend we went to Wisconsin.  Nolan was able to spend a lot of time with his big Cousin.  She gave him lots of hugs and kisses and was so sweet to him.

We went on a very long walk and she insisted on pushing "Nola".

 It got a little bumpy with her driving but he didn't seem to mind..

She even let him hold her stuffed animal for the ride while he slept..

This was Nolan when we got home and he wasn't getting enough attention that he had gotten from Natalie and grandma and grandpa all weekend..

My mother-in-law has been scolding me because of something I "supposedly" taught Nolan. When I smile at him I always open my mouth wide (because who doesn't do that when they talk and smile to babies??)  Nolan has definitely picked it up on it and won't stop doing it..slightly embarrassing when in public..

He'll grow out of it...right?

6 Month Appointment!

Happy Tuesday!

Nolan had his 6 month appointment today. He is 70 percent across the board...his heads a little larger than normal (thanks to Hans).   The doctor did notice a huge growth spurt in his legs though...

 He thought the doctors office was so much fun..

Until the dreaded shots from Dr. Borat. (No lie our Dr. looks and talks just like Borat. I wanted to take a picture of him but Hans' said I couldn't..maybe next time)  When he was about to check Nolan's tonsils he said " OHKAY BAABY ITZ TIIME TO GAG YYOU."  Obviously Nolan was scared (as was I) and started screaming.  However, now he is home safe and sound with Banks licking his wounds.
