Nolan's sleeping positions

One of my favorite things to do it quietly tiptoe (aka stub my toe in the dark and curse loudly)  into Nolan's room when he's sleeping and take pictures of him in his in his crib.  Saying it out-loud this hobby of mine sounds kind of creepy but I just love his cute little positions he sleeps in.

This is his "I'm exhausted nap position" after a long morning.  Hands in the crotch butt in the air.  I often sleep in this position as well.

He has a lot of friends in his crib that he has to play and talk to before he goes to bed.  They usually all end up in a corner together.

Mr. Bugs makes a great pillow.

I feel like the sock monkey is usually the most exhausted.

Pretty sure sometimes he purposely poses for me.

Lounging with his foot up on his bumper.
Crammed into a corner.

And my favorite..straight up against the crib bars.

Pretty surprised my flash hasn't woken him up yet. Night little Nolan!

Happy 9 months!

Nolan is 9 months old today!  To celebrate we went on a long walk, ate a lot of cheerios, pondered if he had pink eye, called the doctor, went to the store and bought him baby lasagna, decided he didn't have pink eye, helped him to jump in his crib (I will probably regret teaching him this later..but boy is his crib bouncy!), and finally laid him down for a nap.  He has now been sleeping for 3 hours so he must have enjoyed the day. I also saw the below card today and thought of Nolan. :)

Garage sale find!

I was pleasantly surprised on our morning walk when I saw a garage sale at our neighbors house.  I had two fabulous 75 cent finds!

The first was a brand new giraffee for Nolan's giraffee themed nursery.  The little girl who lived at the house insisted it ride in the stroller with Nolan.  Nolan willingly obliged as she was quite persistent and bossy.  Good thing we only had a block walk back to our house.

I also found this for 75 cents! Nolan isn't to interested in it now but hopefully he will be when he's a little older!

Football!

Since Nolan wants to follow in SOME of his dad's footsteps I decided to get him a shirt with Hans' Arkansas & Luther football number on it.  However, turns out Hans' number was 71 and I was a number off.  Close enough!

Nolan totally had a Justin Beiber hairstyle going on Sunday for church (All his doing).

Nolan's first time behind the wheel!

Nolan got to drive his first Nestle Purina convertible.  Unfortunately the car was not for him to keep as Hans' company donated it to charity. (Nolan's Grandma Jefferson said they are too dangerous anyway -which explains why I never got the barbie car I dreamed of when I was younger.)

Standing up looking pretty fly in his onesie.

Oh my gosh this steering wheel tastes AMAZING!

Nolan's first time swinging!

We took Nolan to the park this weekend and he got to swing for the first time!  He was definitely more interested in the kids playing around him then he was in swinging.

What's the point of this uncomfortable thing mom?

What are those big kids over there playing on?

Ok this is fun..but seriously can I go play with those kids?

A little high DAD!

Waving!

Nolan's new favorite thing is to wave! (Although he doesn't quite get the concept of why he's doing it yet and does it at really odd times..like waving at the pastor when we went up for communion last Sunday)

Nolan's first Mississippi Valley Fair!

So while it was rough week at the Gustaf house things are getting back to normal.  Nolan is back to his happy giggly self and looking better everyday.  I am very thankful for my mom and family & friends for kind words and prayers!  Now onto happier things...Nolan experienced his first fair last Saturday and we had so much fun!  As you can see below he wasn't to enthused when we arrived.

His dad however, had enough enthusiasm for all of us. Starting out with his extra long corn dog.

Then his banana strawberry smoothie...

Don't forget some amazing 3,000 calorie chips with nacho cheese!

Nolan unfortunately missed it all..and woke up to this sight.

Here are the stats of Bud because I'm sure you are interested:

Nolan meeting geese for the first time.  Not a fan.

I think this was a goat.  Hans felt the need to touch and pet every animal.

Meeting the huge Clydesdales.

At times I found myself questioning if Nolan or Hans was having more fun.

We even attended the horse trotting contest..I wasn't able to maintain my ADD for more than 5 minutes at this event.

Next onto the camels!

As it had now been 30 minutes since we had last eaten we decided to get a red velvet funnel cake with some icing.

Uhhh dad..I think your choking me.

We even attended a Pee Wee Hermann type musical show.. Attached is the link if you want to get a little taste of what we experienced: http://youtu.be/fOxoLeBnwzk

On the way out we went through the "Cool fan" which Nolan...& Hans loved!
And then ended the day by playing a little on the firetruck!

Weddings & Anniversarys!

We attended my cousin, Brian Jefferson's wedding this last weekend in Madison, WI & also celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary!

My sister in-law sharing kisses with my sweet nephew.

Hans camped out at the kitchen door of the reception so he could get the appetizers and beer right when they came out the door!  (One of the many reasons I married this man..:)

My adorable niece!

Nolan with his great uncle Kent watching the wedding party get off the bus.

I guess I failed to tell my niece this one was a normal photo!

Nolan and grandpa hung out a lot during the reception.

My cousin Jill giving her speech.

My nephew and his collection of pencils

 Former 'JJ's

 Dessert!!!  Amazing!!!

The bride & groom sharing their first dance.
 Groom & mother dance.

The future JJ with the two former JJ's!

The Garter toss.  (My cousins, Rory & Cavan are not getting married anytime soon as you can tell by their enthusiasm;)

These statues were at the reception..

Of course my husband had to take it to the next level..(Note: we later found out these were statues representing men waiting in the bread line during the Great Depression. So I later made him apologize to the statues for defiling them).

They even played our wedding song during the reception for a special dance for Hans' and my anniversary.  Of course I was in the bathroom when our names were announced.. After the reception Hans & I went downtown state street to a bar and then a gyro restaurant (like we needed anymore food!) Grandpa and grandma J took Nolan back to the hotel with them.  It was a fabbulouuuus weekend!
