Man Shopping

Normally when my husband wants to go to his outdoorsy stores I fake sick or pretend like I am super busy so I don't have to go. So when he mentioned going to Cabela's the other day I immediately had a headache..but then he tempted me with going out to eat too.. and he KNOWS I can never pass down a food invitation.

Had I known Yogi would be there I would have gone willingly! N was brave and immediately went in for a hug....

Then N got a little nervous and tried to avert Yogi's attention so he could get out of giving the hug..

Going in for the hug again..

Hans awkwardly lingered too long after the hug leading N to angrily push and shove Yogi away ruining the "my child is so sweet" moment.

N also saw his first herd of deer.

And went 4 wheeling!

It wasn't all fun though. Hans made sure to make us look at all the different guns and hunting paraphernalia. Luckily N has the same attention span as me and LOUDLY broadcasts when he has had enough.

Gutter Bookshelves!

My Mother's Day present this year was H making me gutter bookcase shelves for N's room. While he complained about doing it for approximately 15 annoying minutes he finally agreed and headed off to get the supplies at Lowes.  I had found the idea off of Pinterest and while we were a little skeptical about using vinyl gutters it turned out great!

Our main obstacle while building the bookshelves was trying to keep this little boy out of trouble while we worked.

Prepping the corner for construction.  Before the corner housed Nolan's changing table/dresser.

I know nothing about the logistics of building things but I know our only materials bought were the gutters (cut in half by Hans), end caps, corner pieces, and screws.

N gave his dad  LOTS of hugs for encouragement.

While it's nice getting hugs we decided to let him  play in his crib until we finished.

While the picture on Pinterest showed 4 shelves.. by the time we got our 3rd shelf done we were HUNGRY so we mutually decided that three shelves was perfect.

We moved Nolan's changing table/dresser in his closet area.

Thank you my wonderful husband!

Medieval Times

We took my dad to Medieval Times for his late birthday present.  It was a little too "medievaley" for my mom and I... but Hans, dad, and Nolan seemed to enjoy it!

Here's a few pictures of the event.

N's favorite part was when the food was served (my favorite part too).

Forget about all the horses and fighting going on down below...N was more interested in the lights above.

Unfortunately our team was not victorious in the jousting fight.. but it was still a good time !

Nolan gets in a fight..with himself.

Here's a video of Nolan looking at himself in the mirror. First loving himself and then getting angry with himself.  We all have those days!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNL_VowWt9k&feature=youtu.be

Hungry Monster

We love that N can stay in his crib for awhile after he wakes up in the morning (especially since my husband and I are up half the night because I'm constantly hearing things that sound like burglars.. sump pump gets me every time). N usually quietly chats with his stuffed animals or reads his book.  OR as of recently he eats his books. It wouldn't have been so bad if he just took a little nibble out of it.  But he full out had himself breakfast in bed.  It also happened to be a library book.  And sorry Disney's "It's a Small World," you definitely weren't worth buying.

Kisses

Since the day N was born I've been trying to get him to give me kisses. He wants NOTHING to do with my  loving crap.  Below is what I deal with when I ask him to give me kisses.

"Oh you want me to stick my finger down your throat?"

It's pretty hopeless.  At least I don't have to worry about him kissing girls anytime soon.

Grandma time

Grandma Miriam visited last week and boy did N have fun! Looking through pictures of the week I realized a lot of unusual things happened.

The biggest apple on the planet was discovered.  Nolan attempted to eat it but only got about two mouse bites out of it before he gave up and threw it over his head.

N rode a horse at the grocery store. Grandma Miriam rode it too but then security started coming so we had to run and I wasn't able to take a picture for proof.

I had the biggest BOAT of gravy EVER for breakfast.

N had the biggest baby pancake.

And then he went into a food coma.

We went to the best restaurant I've ever been  in my whole entire life. Funky Monk!

Miriam got the weirdest pizza ever. Yes that is an egg in the middle.

I cut off a chunk of my finger trying to cut bread. I was a tad dramatic and it may have ended up just been a small cut but thank goodness for pac-man bandages.

and to wine for helping me to forget I even had fingers..(These are the mini wine glasses from the tv show Shark Tank!)

Before leaving Grandma Miriam got N a guitar.  (He's pretending to be a hard core rocker here).

This is a little more N style.

We had so much fun!

Here's video of Nolan after Grandma left...  Running around in circles to mexican salsa music laughing and burping..(like grandma like grandson?)
