Happy Father's Day (yesterday) to the best dad and the reason why I survived my first 18 years of life! My favorite memory of how selfless and loving my dad is happened during my 8th grade summer vacation. I had a sleepover party at our house and my dad had to leave early the next morning to go to work. I called his secretary upon waking up and asked if she could get a hold of him. She asked if it was an emergency and I said it most definitely it was! My dad called me minutes later frantic and I told him he had forgotten to make my friends and I breakfast before he left that morning (you don't understand..He ALWAYS made breakfast for us). My dad then asked me if I knew he was in the middle of court. I politely told him no I did not know he was in court and could he please leave and come make us pancakes. After a moment of silence on his end I was starting to realize this may have all been a bad idea and we all were going to be eating cereal for breakfast..or worse my mom would try and make it for us (just kidding mom..you are really good at making poached eggs). To my astonishment though 15 minutes later my dad was home in his suit-coat and tie whipping up some pancakes before he rushed off back to court. Not even a lecture for me..however I was taught the definition of an "emergency." Dad of the UNIVERSE! ( And spoiled princess of the universe)! I wouldn't trade him for the whole entire world!! And still to this day I will ONLY eat my dad's pancakes.
My dad, brother and I
