Hans the heathen!

This last weekend we went back to Wisconsin for my High School friend's wedding, Steffi Margaret.   There are a couple key things I remember about the trip home....

#1
As we arrived at the catholic church for the wedding we were seated in the back pew.  Hans went to hand me Nolan because he had to go to the bathroom (go figure) and as he did he toppled into the stand of holy water.   As the stand rocked back and forth, everyone held their breath for the outcome (I secretly praying that it would topple over).  Unfortunately to all watching it didn't fall over...but enough holy water was spilled on Hans & Nolan for a pretty good blessing.  Hans probably committed a huge Catholic sin by spilling the water..I'm pretty sure he's guaranteed to go "you know where" now. But he was very remorseful and even offered to go downstairs to the drinking fountain to fill it back up.

Nolan learned sign language.  My mom had 5 books and one video on teaching babies sign language.  Yes I reminded my mom he is only 4 months old & no he is not deaf...She said it is never too early to learn.  She also swears he made the sign she taught him for "cookie" at one point in the day.  This would not surprise me as he is Hans' child.  At least he will be more sign lingual (is that a word)  than me who only knows flipping people the bird.

The wedding reception we went to was "make your own alcoholic drinks" for free. Thankfully Nolan was at home with grandma and grandpa.  Hans and I started out with a Jaeger bomb.  Then I  didn't see Hans the rest of the night as he was too busy being his own bartender.  Regardless it was a fun night.  My 9 month pregnant friend Katie  was gracious enough to take us to taco bell at midnight and then drive us home.  Hans said the next morning if he had a taco shell he could have made himself a taco with all my taco droppings I spilled in the car.
